How do we get to Hodges Bay House

We offer airport transfers to and from Douglas Charles Airport in Marigot as part of your stay with us, (3 night minimum) We can pick you up upon arrival, and make sure you get dropped off when your ready to depart the island. It’s about a 20 minute drive from the airport to our location.

If you are driving yourself: take the road going straight out of the airport and follow that road all the way through the villages of Wesley and Woodfordhill. Once you are entering the Calibishie area, you will see a colourful lunch stop to your right at the top of the hill. Our sign is just past it to your left.
Take your first right, past the lunch stop. We are the first house
on your right with a blue roof. Hodges Bay House logo on front of building.

Calibishie Village and Area

Calibishie is a delightful oceanside village that offers restaurants, small grocery stores, bars, an ATM, gas pump, local produce and friendly local faces. The currency on Dominica is the Eastern Caribbean dollar. Some places and
vendors will accept US dollars, but prefer if you pay in EC.

Some businesses offer credit card machines, but not all. Cash is still king here on Dominica!

The area around Calibishie offers several public beaches, a chocolate making business, the Red Rocks, as well as many walking paths to name but a few attractions.

Just down the road from us is Seacliff Gin Distillery. From January to April they offer gin tastings every Tuesday and Friday at 4pm. Even if you are not a gin fan, the garden tour alone is worth it!

Attire

Dominica is a very relaxed island, generally shorts, flip flops and tank tops are the uniform of the day.

Hiking of course will require proper footwear and quick dry clothing. Leave your sparkly accessories and bobbles at home, choosing instead to immerse yourself in the casual atmosphere of the island.
